We will host three seminars in the months leading up to the race that will help you prepare for the race. The seminars will be held at 6:00pm at the Scott & White Hospital in College Station and will be led by medical professionals from the Scott & White network.
September 14, 2015 – So You Want to Run a Marathon
This seminar is great for first time runners or runners who have taken some time off since their last big race. You will learn training tips, basic nutrition, hydration and ways to stay motivated throughout your training.
October 14, 2015 – Food for Fuel
Good nutrition should be part of your ongoing training. As a sport, running requires particular nutrients to keep you fueled and to improve your stamina. Christine discusses why a healthy diet is important and what to eat.
November 18, 2015 – Proper Stretching Techniques and Injury Prevention
The most important part of training for a marathon is to have fun and enjoy the race. BSWH Physical Therapists will lead a lecture on proper stretching and injury prevention, followed by a Q&A session.
