What Our Runners Are Saying
From start to finish, from registration to packet pick-up, there is no better race in Texas…
I have run races all over the country. This surpassed many of the ‘big’ races put on by production companies. Attention to detail was apparent.
Bryan/College Station is on the marathon map!
This is definitely THE race to run in Texas. I WILL be back… and will bring my friends!
I have been running for 25 years…I was so impressed with all the attention to detail and loved the course. I rate it A+… if I have a pulse, I will return next year!

A race for runners, started by runners
First and foremost, we are runners who run a lot of marathons. We know that race day is not the only thing that makes a race special, and we know what causes frustration. Here are some of the details that we obsess over for the Baylor Scott & White BCS Marathon + Half Marathon.
Pre-Race
Big city perks with a small town feel.
Expo
We host an expo that is big enough for you to find anything you might want, but not so big that you can’t find your way to your bib number and packet pickup.
Communication and Accessibility
Our runners tell us that no race they’ve ever run communicates as well and as efficiently as we do. We take that to heart.
We communicate with the runners frequently and openly through our facebook page and email to address any issues including traffic, weather conditions and other important race day details.
We Go Above and Beyond
When the Dallas Marathon had to cancel for ice in 2013 (48 hours before our race) we opened entry to several hundred now raceless Dallas runners as well as allowed registered runners for our race stranded by ice in the DFW area to defer their registration to 2014.
Race Day Amenities
Nobody does more
Great On Course Support
Water and Gatorade every 1.5 miles. Medical stations every 1.5 miles beginning at mile 7.5. Along the way, we also have 4 fueling stations for our runners which are stocked with baked goods, fresh fruit, candy, and runner energy gels.
Best Post Race Party in Texas
No race treats their runners to the feast of food and drink that comes at our finish line. Last year’s menu included cheeseburgers, breakfast burritos, pizza rolls, fresh fruit, cookies, and strawberry tarts. To quench your thirst, we also have three different kinds of margaritas and three different kinds of beer. All of this is included with your race entry. We never upsell our runners at the finish.
Live Entertainment
Santa and Mrs. Claus, numerous music stations, local schools and bands all there to cheer you on. 12 Student groups from Texas A&M will be scattered throughout campus in a competition to be the loudest and craziest “cheer station”.
It’s all there to help you have your best race yet.
Community
Like a huge, sweaty family
From the time you register for our race, our goal is to treat you as more than a bib number.
We’re personal, available, and we want to do everything that we can to make this the best race you’ve ever run. We take this so seriously that our race director stands at the finish line on race day, personally greeting every finisher from the front of the pack to those who take just a little bit longer.
Charities
The reason we started this race
Running is not our only passion; we started this race as a way to raise money for local children’s charities. Over the past three years, we’ve done exactly that to the tune of nearly $400,000. On a per runner basis, we would put that up against any race in the country. 100% of the proceeds from this year’s race will be given to the following charities.
Mercy Project
Mercy Project, based in Bryan/College Station, is working to eradicate child slavery in Ghana, Africa through economic development.
Scotty’s House
Scotty’s House provides hope and healing to the most severely abused children in the Brazos Valley with a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse cases.
Brazos Valley Food Bank Backpack Program
This program provides food for children over the weekend in a backpack discreetly distributed every Friday throughout the school year. Schools are provided 30 backpacks per week to provide to children at risk of going hungry over the weekend.
